1. Different System Types
A Venturi is an open system. You need to open the air valve and it pulls in air.
An air blower is a closed system. It builds pressure and pushes air to the jets. No outside air can enter or the pressure drops and the system stops working.
2. Different Installation Locations
A Venturi sits inside the jet body at the point where the water moves fastest. That high speed creates the low pressure it needs.
Whether a jet supports a Venturi depends on the jet design. Not every jet can use it.
An air blower sits in the equipment (hot tub) area. It has its own air line that goes to a manifold, which then feeds air to multiple jets.
3. Different Control Methods
A Venturi depends on a manual air valve. The user turns a knob on the spa shell to adjust how much air is pulled in.
An air blower uses an electronic switch or the spa control panel. It can be On Off or multi speed. Many systems also let you control it through an app.
4. Different Working Principles
Venturi uses passive air pull.
When the main pump pushes fast water through the narrow throat inside the jet body, it creates a low pressure zone.
This pressure drop pulls air in through the air valve, into the small air line, through the Venturi throat, and then mixes it with the water.
All the air comes from outside. No motor is involved.
An air blower uses active pressure.
